French
We live in a world without borders and greater opportunities will be offered to those that are able to communicate in different languages.
French as a foreign or a second language is taught from Year 6 to Year 12. The experience of learning a second language increases a student’s self-knowledge and their knowledge of the world. It is an integral part of developing and encouraging a holistic view of knowledge, fostering intercultural awareness and stressing the importance of communication. The learning and teaching of a foreign or a second language is as closely linked to intercultural awareness as it is to the development of linguistic skills through listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Year 8 French course is designed for students who have completed Year 7 French curriculum. Extra support and catch up classes are provided to students who join us at the beginning or during the school year. French is studied through L’Equipe 2 textbook, authentic resources and interactive activities.
